Progressive Jackpot

What are Progressive Jackpots? #

Progressive Jackpots are a new game type in the Zap Competitions suite. A daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or continuous jackpot prize pot which builds with each order can be won at any point by a customer.

Global Configuration #

There are a number of settings available to control how Jackpots are displayed on the site. These can be found by navigating to Zap > Manage Features > Progressive Jackpot.

1. Enable Progressive Jackpot. Enables or disables the Progressive Jackpot feature.
2. Enable Navbar Widget. Enables or disables the navbar widget, which is shown next to the cart and basket icons.
3. Select Jackpot for Navbar Widget. Select which Jackpot total to show on the navbar widget.
4. Select Jackpot for Homepage Section. Select which Jackpot total to show on the homepage section.
5. Enable Checkout Notice. Enables or disables the checkout notice.
6. Allowed Gateways. Select which payment gateways should add contributions to Jackpots.
7. Allow Contributions From Cashier. Enables contributions from Zap Cashier wallets.
8. Help button text. Text to show on the help button shown on the homepage section, and checkout notice.
9. Help button link. Link used on the help button shown on the homepage section, and checkout notice.

Emails #

There are 2 emails associated with Progressive Jackpots. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails.

Here, there will be 2 new email types:

• Progressive Jackpot Won
• Progressive Jackpot Won – Admin

These are sent to the jackpot winner and the site admin respectively.

Both of these emails have configurable content, and you can use the following tags to display dynamic content in either email:

{order_id}
{jackpot_name}
{jackpot_amount}

Setting up a Jackpot #

Navigate to Progressive Jackpot > Add New from the admin sidebar.

Here you can set-up a new Jackpot, with the following options:

• Jackpot Frequency. How often should the jackpot reset – this can be set to daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or continuous, where the jackpot will instantly start again when won.
• Jackpot Start Amount. Here you can seed the jackpot with a starting contribution, this can be any amount or even 0.
• Jackpot Triggering Odds. Here you set the percentage odds for the Jackpot trigger. E.g. when set to 1% each order has a 1% chance of triggering the order (1 in 100).
• Jackpot Contribution Type / Jackpot Contribution Amount. Here you can switch between a set amount per order (e.g. £1), or a set percentage of each orders’ total, e.g. (1%).
• Jackpot Start Date. If you would like the Jackpot to start at a certain date/time you can do so here. Once the Jackpot ends this value will automatically re-set.
• Jackpot End Date. If you would like the Jackpot to end at a certain date/time you can do so here. Once the Jackpot ends this value will automatically re-set.

Once you have configured your Jackpot, click on Publish to set your Jackpot live. This will immediately start accepting contributions and will give customers a chance to trigger with each order placed.

Jackpot Triggering Odds #

This table tells you, for example, that if you have 15k orders in a month, you would need each order to have roughly a 0.003405% chance of triggering the jackpot to reach a 40% overall chance of triggering the jackpot at least once during that month.
